Sigirya, the historic fortress of King Kasyapa, sits astride the
mighty Lion Rock. Sri Lanka’s unique landmark dating from the
5th century is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is regarded as
the Eighth Wonder of the World. We will be walking through the
giant „lion’s paws“ above the royal gardens towards the stunning
fortress. In the caves of the Lion Rock are the enchanting
„cloud maidens“ – unique frescoes of magical beauty. In the
museum we will take an exciting journey through Sri Lanka’s
past. Then we will drive to Dambulla, where will be staying
overnight. |
