Wat Khili

 Address:
 Known as:   Wat Souvanna Khili
Description:   Wat Souvanna Khili (Wat Khili) was built in 1773).Records indicate that Wat Souvanna Khili, the "Temple of the Golden Mountain", was built in 1773 by Chao Kham Satta, a native of Xianghkouang province to the southeast of Luang Prabang. In his homeland Chao Kham Satta would have been familiar with temples built in what are now described as the Xieng Khouang style, characterised by low roofs, a pentagonal cross-section, and a "waist" or projecting band around the top of the foundation (this last element is not particularly developed at Wat Souvanna Khili).
