Sanyuan Palace Kundao Yard, formerly known as Master Zhou Temple
and also known as Chunve Temple, was originally built in 1728,
the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing
Dynasty, and renamed Sanyuan Palace and changed to Kundao Yard
of Quanzhen Faction in 1989. It mainly worships the Three Lord
Emperors of the Three Realms and Master Zhou. The Three Lord
Emperors of the Three Realms is the combined name of the Lord
Emperor of the Heavenly Realm, the Lord Emperor of the Earthly
Realm, and the Lord Emperor of the Watery Realm. It is known as
Sanyuan Worship and is the earliest natural spirits Taoism
consecrates. Master Zhou, named Zhou Zhonghong, served as the
Magistrate of Huating in 1704, the 43rd year of the reign of
Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, and the Magistrate of
Songjiang in 1728, the 6th year of the reign of Emperor
Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty. He died from commanding the flood
control. Sanyuan Palace is the only Taoist temple of Quanzhen
Faction in Shanghai, also the only Kundao Yard in Shanghai |
