The giant bronze bell in the Ancient Bell Garden in Nanhui
County was cast in the Longqing 5th year of the Ming Dynasty.
The bell is 1.62-m tall, with a circumference of 3.4 m, 1,600 kg
in weight. There are winding paths leading to secluded and quiet
places. The paths are paved with pebbles and stone slabs. The
garden is laid out with pavilions, waterside pavilions,
corridors, chamber, bridges, paths, ditches, channels, buildings
with upturned eaves and landscaping emphasizing on “black tiles
and white walls, green planes and white gingko”, reproducing the
antique style of gardens and the charm of life in the Ming
Dynasty. A special lantern show is held on every Peach Blossom
Festival, attracting great numbers of visitors. |
