Description: |

Rebuilt in the 7th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi’s reign, it is
located in the north of Shouan Temple, 2.5 km east of the city.
There are 9 peaks, the tallest being the middle peak. At the
foot of the mountain there is the Lotus Pond and QingYuan Hall.
A pagoda on the top of the mountain named Sea Subduing Pagoda
was built to subdue the sea. On the walls of the three sides,
the east, south and west of the pagoda are inscribed the three
characters of “pacify”, “silence” and “stabilize” meaning “to
subdue”. In 1933, a monument was erected beside the mountain to
commemorate Tang Yicen, the national hero in resisting the
pirates. |
