The
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering to the north
with both the Republic of Mongolia and Russia, is the
widest province in China (by its latitude). It is the
third largest Chinese province (over 1.1 million square
kilometers or 424,736 square miles) but not very
populated. The province has about 24 million
inhabitants. Many ethnic groups are living in this area
including Mongolian, ....

Climate in Inner Mongolia is very different
during the year. Winter is cold and can be very long, with frequent
blizzards. Usually summer is short and warm. |

Daqinggou is 10 kilometers in
length, 200-300 meters in width
and about 100 meters in depth.
There is boundless water outside
of the gorge and many mountains,
beautiful woods and tall trees
there. The uniqueness of
Daqinggou lies in its diversity.
The geomorphological sights
include forests, grasslands,
deserts, lakes and rivers. |

The Tamin Chagan Desert is
located between the eastern part
of Naiman Banner and Kulun
Banner. “Tamin Chagan” means
"devil" or "hell” in Mongolian,
and thus, it is sometimes called
the "Devil's Desert." In the
summer, visitors may
occasionally run into phantom
"mirages" in the depths of the
desert. Vegetation is scarce in
the desert, aside from smaller
brush and plants that are native
to sandy environments, such as
desert wormwood and esfand. The
entire desert is full of
beautiful, golden sand. There
are a variety of recreational
activities. |

The river near Daqingguo has
been turned into rafting,
drifting, it gives people the
feeling of safety and stimulate,
not to be missed.... Drifting 20
yuan /2 hours, rowing 10 yuan
/hour. Daqinggou is the first in
the field on horseback riding,
you can go to the desert, about
two hours. Daqinggou to the best
tourist season in October. |
